WHEN WE PLAY TOGETHER
WE COME TOGETHER
The African-American Amateur Golfers' Association of America also known as the 3AGA is on a mission to become the leader in amateur golf experiences. Promoting play within our community and showcasing how the game of golf can forge lasting bonds and build bridges to opportunities that may have never been realized without participation. So join us today as we embark on this historic journey.
ONE ROUND AT A TIME
Chief Gary Lewis Jr.
TO PROTECT AND BE OF SERVICE
Gary Lewis is currently the Chief of Police for the University of Louisville. His career has spanned over several decades and has been entirely about protecting and being of service. So much so that it has naturally transferred to his four boys who are all active in various branches of the armed services. Chief as many in the 3AGA refer to him as is a laid back and humble gentleman with varied interest that include rare bourbons, good cigars, collectible comic artifacts and of course golf.
The husband and proud father of five is an active member in a number of professional and social organizations. He is a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma fraternity and sits on many counsels and boards. He is currently working with the African American Amateurs Golfers' Association of America to create an event dedicated to putting a spotlight on gun violence in our community and what we all can do to help reduce this epidemic. Only through education and mentorship which are the basis of what we believe in at the 3AGA, can we show the next generation there is a different way of doing things. Because when we play together we CAN come together as a community.
